Best Bingo Apps for Android in the UK: Google Play & Chrome Guide

Google Play lists real-money bingo apps from UK-licensed brands. Of the three brands we recommend, Mecca and Kitty point Android players to an app, and Lucky Pants runs in Chrome.

Bingo on Android: what changed

For years, Android players had to use the browser for real-money bingo, because Google Play did not list gambling apps. That changed when Google opened Play to licensed operators in selected countries, including the UK. Today, UK-licensed gambling apps sit in Google Play with a PEGI 18 rating and are only shown to adults.

All twelve reviewed brands, with their app status, are compared in one table.

Installing a bingo app safely

Search Google Play for the brand name and check that the developer matches the operator named in the review. Mecca, Kitty and Lucky Pants are all run by Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) Ltd. Real-money apps only appear when your Google account is set to the UK.

Some operators also offer an APK file from their own website. That is acceptable when it comes directly from the operator, but Google Play remains the safest route. Never install one from a file-sharing site or a link in a message.

Android phones and screen size

Android phones come in every size, and bingo benefits from a bigger screen. On a large phone, tickets and buttons are easy to tap without zooming, and the chat fits beside the game when you turn the phone sideways. On a smaller or older phone, keep to one or two tickets per game and use auto-daub.

Bingo on Android tablets

For Mecca Bingo, the Play listing on your own tablet shows whether it is supported, and the mobile site is always an option. The Kitty Bingo and Lucky Pants Bingo sites scale up to tablet size. A tablet shows more tickets and the chat together, which suits long 90-ball sessions.

When Chrome is the better choice

The mobile site is a good option if your phone is short of storage, if an app no longer supports your Android version, or if you only play occasionally. Add the site to your home screen from the Chrome menu and it opens from an icon, full screen. Your account and limits are the same as in the app.

Payments on Android

Mecca, Kitty and Lucky Pants all take Visa and Mastercard debit cards, PayPal and Paysafecard; Mecca also lists Trustly, and Kitty and Lucky Pants instant bank transfer, both from £5. Credit cards cannot be used for gambling in the UK.

For bingo with PayPal on an Android phone, the PayPal app can approve a deposit with a fingerprint or face unlock, so you do not type card numbers on a small screen. Google Pay is not listed by any of the three, so do not expect it in the cashier. Withdrawals go back to the method you used where possible, and Paysafecard cannot receive them, which is worth knowing before you choose how to pay in. Keep the cashier and your banking app on the same phone and a payout is easy to follow from start to finish.

Getting started

Once the app is installed, set a deposit limit before your first game. The setup guide covers each step, and iPhone owners will find the equivalent list in the iPhone and iPad guide.

Quick answers

Is real-money bingo allowed on Google Play in the UK?

Yes. Google Play lists gambling apps from operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. They are rated PEGI 18 and only shown to adults in the UK.

Which bingo apps are on Google Play?

Mecca Bingo publishes its app in Google Play, next to the separate Mecca Slots and My Mecca apps. Kitty Bingo points Android players to its own Android app. Lucky Pants Bingo has no app and is played in Chrome.

Should I install a bingo APK from a website?

Only if it comes from the operator's own site. The safest route is Google Play, which checks apps before listing them.

Can I play on an Android tablet?

Check the Play listing on your own tablet to see whether it is supported. The Kitty Bingo and Lucky Pants Bingo mobile sites scale up on a tablet, with the ticket and chat side by side.
