Slingo in one sentence
Slingo is a single-player game that combines a 5 × 5 bingo-style grid with a row of five slot-style reels: each spin shows a number under every column, and matching numbers are daubed on the grid. Complete lines, called Slingos, move you up a prize ladder.
How a Slingo game plays out
- The grid. You start with 25 numbers in five columns, much like a 75-ball bingo card without the free centre.
- The spin. Five reels spin below the grid. Each reel lands on a number or a symbol for its column.
- The daub. Any number that appears in its column is marked on the grid, by hand or automatically.
- The symbols. Special symbols can help, such as a joker that lets you daub any number in its column, or hinder, such as a blocker that daubs nothing.
- The ladder. Every completed row, column or diagonal is a Slingo. The more Slingos you complete, the higher you climb on the ladder shown beside the grid.
A game has a fixed number of spins. In many titles you can buy extra spins at the end, with the price shown before you choose; that is where spending can climb quickly.
Slingo and bingo compared
| Bingo | Slingo | |
|---|---|---|
| Numbers come from | A caller, shared by the whole room | Reels you spin yourself |
| Players | Many players in one room | You alone |
| Timing | Scheduled games | Any time you tap spin |
| Winning | Lines or patterns, first to complete | Prize ladder by number of Slingos |
| Chat | Usually part of the room | None |
Because there is no room and no caller, Slingo has none of the social side of bingo. It is closer to a slot game in pace: a spin takes seconds, and a whole game can be over in a minute.
Why Slingo appeals to bingo players
Slingo feels familiar to anyone who has played 75-ball bingo. The grid, the daubing and the idea of completing lines all carry over, so there is little to learn before a first game. What changes is the rhythm: instead of waiting for a caller and a room to fill, you decide when each spin happens. That makes it a common choice between scheduled bingo games, when a room is still a few minutes from starting.
The flip side is that the pauses that slow bingo down are gone. A bingo game takes several minutes and costs the price of your tickets; a Slingo game can finish in well under a minute, and it is easy to start another straight away. Keeping an eye on the session clock matters more here than in a bingo room.
Reading a Slingo prize ladder
The ladder beside the grid shows what each number of Slingos pays, rising step by step towards a top prize for a full grid. Titles differ in how many steps the ladder has and how many Slingos each step needs, so the ladder is worth a look before the first spin. Some games also add a bonus feature when a set number of Slingos is reached. None of this changes the chance on any single spin; it only tells you how results are paid.
Where to find Slingo in bingo apps
Lucky Pants Bingo lists Slingo among more than 1,000 games, next to its five bingo formats, so the same account covers both. Kitty Bingo lists Slingo among its games as well, alongside six bingo formats. Mecca Bingo keeps slots in a separate Mecca Slots app, so its bingo lobby stays focused on the rooms. Titles change often, so the lobby is the place to check what is currently offered.

Playing Slingo on a phone
Slingo suits a phone well: the grid fits the screen in portrait, and auto-daub means you only need to tap spin. Two habits help. First, read the rules screen of each title, as symbols and ladders differ between games. Second, decide in advance whether you will buy extra spins at all, since that option appears at the moment a big result feels close.
Like any game of chance, Slingo has no strategy that changes the outcome of a spin. Set a deposit limit before you play; the mobile setup guide shows where, and the bingo formats guide covers the traditional games if you prefer a room with a caller.
Quick answers
Is Slingo the same as bingo?
No. Slingo borrows the bingo grid and the idea of daubing numbers, but instead of a caller the numbers come from a row of spinning reels. You play on your own, with no scheduled rooms.
What is a Slingo?
A Slingo is a completed line on the grid: a row, a column or a diagonal. Each game pays more as you complete more Slingos, following the prize ladder shown on screen.
How many spins does a Slingo game have?
Most Slingo games give a fixed number of spins, often around ten, with the option in some titles to buy extra spins at the end. The rules screen of each game shows the exact number.
Which bingo apps include Slingo?
Lucky Pants Bingo lists Slingo among its 1,000-plus games, and Kitty Bingo lists Slingo among its games too. Titles change often, so check the lobby before you play.
